1. About Zanzibar Paradise Experience

Zanzibar Paradise Experience (zanzibarparadiseexperience.com) is operated by Inspirations Africa as an island holiday platform connecting travellers with verified hotels, guesthouses, and activity providers across the Zanzibar archipelago, catering to a range of budgets from mid-range to luxury.

Booking Process & Confirmation

  • Submitting a booking enquiry does not guarantee availability and does not constitute a binding contract.
  • A booking is confirmed only when the operator issues written confirmation and the required deposit has been received.
  • All prices are quoted in United States Dollars (USD) per person unless otherwise stated and are subject to change until a booking is confirmed.
  • Prices may vary based on season, group size, accommodation type, and availability.
  • We reserve the right to correct pricing errors before a booking is confirmed.

Payment Terms

  • A 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your booking.
  • The remaining 70% balance is due no later than 60 days before the travel departure date.
  • Bookings made within 60 days of departure require full payment at the time of booking.
  • Payments are processed securely via PesaPal and DPO Group payment gateways. We do not store your credit card details.
  • Park fees, government levies, and conservation fees are subject to change without notice by the relevant authorities and will be passed on at cost if they change after your booking is confirmed.
  • Failure to make payment by the due date may result in automatic cancellation of your booking.

Cancellation Policy

All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via email. The following cancellation fees apply based on the notice period before the scheduled departure date:

  • 60 or more days before departure: 25% cancellation fee (deposit forfeited).
  • 30 to 59 days before departure: 50% of the total booking cost.
  • Less than 30 days before departure: 100% of the total booking cost (no refund).

Certain elements of your booking, including but not limited to national park permits, gorilla trekking permits, internal flights, and special activity permits, may be non-refundable once issued by the relevant authority, regardless of the cancellation timing.

If we or the operator must cancel a booking due to circumstances within our control, you will be offered a full refund or the option to reschedule at no additional cost.

Travel Insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended and in many cases mandatory for all bookings. Your policy should cover, at a minimum:

  • Medical expenses and hospitalisation
  • Emergency medical evacuation, including air ambulance from remote areas
  • Trip cancellation and interruption
  • Personal liability
  • Loss or damage to personal belongings and luggage

We may request proof of adequate travel insurance before your departure. Inspirations Africa is not liable for any costs arising from inadequate or absent insurance coverage.

Water Activity Waivers

Zanzibar offers numerous water-based activities. By booking any water activity, you acknowledge the following:

  • Water activities carry inherent risks including drowning, injury from marine life, and adverse weather conditions.
  • You must be a competent swimmer to participate in most water activities.
  • You must disclose any medical conditions that may be affected by water activities.
  • Scuba diving requires valid certification (PADI Open Water or equivalent) for certified dives.
  • Operators may cancel water activities due to weather or safety concerns without refund, though rescheduling will be attempted.

Marine Conservation Fees

  • Marine conservation fees apply when visiting protected areas such as Mnemba Atoll, Chumbe Island, and Menai Bay.
  • Guests must comply with marine park regulations: no touching coral, no feeding fish, no reef-toxic sunscreen.

Beach Safety

  • Ocean swimming is subject to tidal conditions. Many beaches have extreme tidal range -- follow local advice on safe swimming times.
  • Sea urchins may be present at low tide. Water shoes are recommended.
  • Swim in designated areas and heed rip current warnings.

Accommodation Standards

Zanzibar Paradise Experience offers a range of accommodation tiers:

  • Budget & mid-range options: Clean, safe accommodation with basic amenities. Air conditioning, hot water, and Wi-Fi may not be available in all budget properties. Please check the specific property listing for included amenities.
  • Premium options: Higher-standard properties with guaranteed amenities as listed.
  • Power outages may occur on Zanzibar. Most premium properties have generators; budget properties may not.

Weather & Seasonal Disclaimers

Zanzibar has two rainy seasons (March-May and November-December). Activities may be modified or unavailable during heavy rainfall. Weather-related disruptions are not grounds for a refund.

Cultural Respect

  • Zanzibar is a predominantly Muslim island. Visitors should dress modestly in public areas outside resort premises.
  • Photography of local people requires their consent.
  • During Ramadan, eating, drinking, and smoking in public during daylight hours should be avoided out of respect.

Traveller Responsibilities

  • Valid passport (6+ months validity) and Tanzanian visa required.
  • Yellow Fever certificate may be required depending on your country of origin.
  • You must disclose medical conditions, dietary requirements, or mobility limitations at booking.

Limitation of Liability

Inspirations Africa acts as an intermediary connecting travellers with independent tour operators. We exercise due diligence in vetting all operators on our platform, including verification of business registration, licences, insurance, and safety standards.

However, we are not liable for:

  • The actions, omissions, or negligence of third-party tour operators, accommodation providers, transport companies, or activity providers.
